Her moves tend to deal an entire Crimson Flask's worth of damage or more when they connect. Malenia deals an unnecessary amount of damage. If you throw a projectile at Malenia and she has a charge of Waterfowl Dance available, she will always dodge sideways and then use the move. If you throw a projectile at Malenia, she will always dodge sideways and then dodge forward. Malenia appears to always follow up getting hit with hopping away and using a move that has superarmor. Most of Malenia's moves appear to be designed to punish rolling backward as opposed to sideways or forward, as they have subpar tracking. one of the long-range thrust moves) have greatly oversized hitboxes. Malenia has moves that do not have superarmor. Malenia has moves that have superarmor. Malenia has a mix of grounded and jumping moves. Malenia regenerates a fixed amount of HP with every hit. Here are my observations and thoughts thus far. I am not using any Scar/Soreseals or other defense-lowering equipment.
I am currently using a Colossal Sword, have 1,966 max HP, and have 40% physical damage negation. I am currently on my second playthrough, now trying to come to grips with Malenia's fight.
